The Newcastle Volleyball Committee regrets to advise that it will be suspending all club activities until at least Sunday 26th April due to the continued escalation of the COVID-19 outbreak.
We have been notified by Volleyball NSW that they are suspending their events and competitions program until Thursday 30th April, including Schools Cup events (April, May and June) as well as the community favourite State Cup events (ANZAC, Newcastle, and Illawarra).
This decision to disrupt our local community volleyball season is difficult, however is socially responsible as we proactively consider the welfare of our players, officials, coaches and the wider community.
Newcastle Volleyball will continue to monitor the local, State and National situation and will provide a further update to members no later than Friday 17th April, featuring advice on our midweek social competitions, representative team training and Spikeroos. If our community situation changes significantly before then, we will be in contact sooner.
Thank you for your support during this rapidly evolving health crisis. While we are committed to helping people play volleyball, our highest priority at the moment is keeping our volleyball and wider community safe.
If you have questions please email us (firstname.lastname@example.org) and we will do our best to respond, or we will consider for further discussion at the upcoming Committee meeting on 30th March.
